The Body Composition, Exercise Physiology, and Energy Metabolism Laboratory, or BCEPEM for short, is a core lab facility within the University of Hawaii Cancer Center.

Our mission is to provide accurate and precise measures of physiological biomarkers for research and self-assessment.

We welcome researchers to use our facility on a recharge basis. We currently support studies from within the UH Cancer Center, the UH Native Hawaiian Health, industry clinical trials for therapy validation, and from device manufacturers for validation of new technologies. Individuals can have a wide variety of health indicators measured for self-assessment and to track the effects of dietary and physical activity interventions.
